Learn from the Past to Create Our Future
Events of the past, present, and future states of mankind, their relationship to God, and their relationship to each other, teach us to understanding ourselves and God’s plan. The teacher leads the group discussion for the group, facilitating the discussion between the students. Students come to the discussion having had their own independent study of history and as a group discuss how to apply lessons learned in history to themselves, their families, and their communities. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Teaching history in this manner enables our students to view their own lives in historical context, be more grateful for the sacrifices of those that came before them, and recognize their responsibility to create the future they want to live in.
